Bio: Greg Embry is a Spartanburg county native, growing up in and attending District Two schools. He graduated in 2003 from Boiling Springs High School. He then went on to attend the University of South Carolina - Upstate, where he graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration in 2007. The following April (of 2008), he started a career with Walmart which lasted a little over seven years. His roles included Load Logistics Manager in the Transportation, Assistant Store Manager in the Retail, and Area Manager in Distribution. During his last role, he decided he wanted to enter the finance industry. Greg held a passion for that for quite some time. He joined SunTrust Bank in July 2015 as a Customer Service Specialist. He was promoted twice within his first year, and then in July 2016, he reached his goal of becoming a Branch Manager. He grew a lot professionally and personally during his career both with Walmart and SunTrust. Greg recently entered the Financial Advisor Associate program with Morgan Stanley.
Hobbies: Greg is married to Danielle Embry, and they have a three year-old son, Carter, and will also soon have a baby girl, Foster. He enjoys spending time with the family, watching and playing sports.
Why SYP: Greg joined SYP to get to know more like-minded young professionals and leaders in our community, as well as to give back. Greg currently serves on the board for Spartanburg Young Professionals, the Finance Committee for The Children's Cancer Partners of the Carolinas, the Development Committee for Spartanburg Philharmonic, and the Financial Allocations Committee for the United Way of the Piedmont.
