Claudia Albergotti, Chair

Bio: Claudia Albergotti joined Johnson Management in January 2015.  She is responsible for managing and developing business relationships in Spartanburg and across the Upstate to create opportunities to grow JDA’s positive economic influence in the community, with oversight of the local office assets and residential developments owned and managed by the company.  Claudia also serves as the liaison to the community for the major philanthropic endeavors of the Johnson family within the community of Spartanburg, namely Meeting Street Academy.  Prior to joining JDA, Claudia worked for MotionPoint Corporation in Boca Raton, Florida, providing strategic consultation on online market expansion for current and prospective clients.  She has also worked with the Aspen Institute in Aspen, Colorado.  Claudia is originally from Anderson, South Carolina, and received a B.A. in English from Wofford College.

Hobbies: Claudia enjoys taking long brisk walks in her neighborhood, cooking with friends, exploring new restaurants and watering holes, traveling, spending time with her family, and supporting community initiatives in Spartanburg!

Why SYP: Initially looking for a way to connect with young people in the Spartanburg community after moving from South Florida, Claudia quickly discovered the passion that this group of individuals had for making a direct impact on the growth and development of Spartanburg.  When asked to serve on the Board, Claudia was excited to serve and continues to enjoy meeting new professionals moving to the area.

Why Spartanburg: For Claudia, Spartanburg still has the feel of a close-knit community, while boasting the growth and amenities of a much bigger town.  Because of that, there is a real opportunity for young professionals to take on leadership roles and make a big difference in the growth trajectory of the community.  Spartanburg has changed drastically in the past 5+ years, particularly in the downtown area, and it’s an exciting time for young professionals to actively engage in change opportunities.
